Zubin Billimoria

Zubin Billimoria is a Graduate in Commerce from the Mumbai University having qualified in 1985 besides being a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) (qualified in 1989) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) (qualified in 1992).

Professional Background & Accomplishments

  • He has over 30 years of working experience with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Chartered Accountants (“Deloitte”) and its associate firm S.B. Billimoria & Co. in the Audit and Assurance function, including 7 years as a partner till 31st March 2015. During the course of his association with Deloitte, he has been involved in providing audit and attestation services for a wide spectrum of clients in different industries and sectors including in all spheres of financial services as well as other industries like mining, real estate, shipping, hotels, automobile components, amongst others.
  • Effective from 1st April 2015, Zubin has shifted focus from traditional audit / attest driven practice to consultancy / advisory services and training to Firms and Corporates in IND-AS and ICFR Implementation, other accounting advisory services, CSR, Internal Controls, audit quality and documentation, amongst others.
  • Besides he has been a regular speaker at various forums like the ICAI, Bombay Chartered Accountants Society (BCAS), Chamber of Tax Consultants and regularly contributes articles in various professional journals on CSR and accounting and auditing matters. He has also authored books on CSR, NBFCs and the Companies Act. He is also an empaneled reviewer with the FRRB and QRB.
  • He is also an Independent Director and member/chairman of the Audit Committee in an Urban Co-operative Bank and a listed company and is a member of the Managing Committee of the BCAS and its Treasurer during 2022-23 and a Trustee / Treasurer in some NGOs.
